Plans, plans, plans

I'm beginning to seriously wonder if I've gone over the edge. I just booked round-trip travel to visit my new puppy's litter. I wish I knew if this was common. If they lived within driving distance, sure...nothing could keep me away. But when I have to fly, is it being a little obsessive? The little guys and their sister will be about five weeks old when I visit. But will our little one remember me when we bring him home three weeks later? I'm trying to look at this as a chance to explore a new part of the country - central Oregon. But really I'm just trying to get a puppy fix.
